The Jester Baltimore Challenge 2025 started in fine weather; 25 challengers crossed the start line at Plymouth and 10 at Pwllheli. The fleet is a mixture of old hands and new faces and the days before the start saw the usual convivial socials and mutual help with final preparations.
Many challengers found the passage to the start awkward due to the weather. Eberhard Harms (LÅNGE ORM) deserves special mention, sailing from the Azores to the event, ending in a fast but wet 5 day passage from the Spanish coast to Plymouth.
The High pressure now drifting north over the UK will result in frustrating light westerly winds for the fleet, while those of us on land enjoy fine weather. Midweek will see welcome easterlies that will help those sailing
Once again we were extremely well looked after before the event. Our thanks to Mayflower marina and Jolly Jack’s at Plymouth and Hafan Pwllheli Marina and Plas Heli at Pwllheli.
Thanks for the update Howard…all information gratefully received…
